jalandhara bandha

literally, the "net-holding lock," like a fisherman would use to hold one end of his net beneath his chin, while casting out the rest of it. This is the "chin lock" used to prevent the premature upward movement of the prana vayu, and send it back down to Manipura Chakra where it is transmuted and can be redirected up the central, sushumna nadi.
